Laura Rathe Fine Art announces a solo exhibition featuring the work of renowned artist, Meredith Pardue. LRFA will be hosting the opening reception on Saturday, April 4th from 6-9pm at their 2707 Colquitt gallery.

Pardue’s most recent body of work, created in a state of flow, presents painting in its most natural and energetic state. The artist states that the energy of creation flows through her, not from her, as if she is a catalyst for the physical manifestation of the work.  This body of work captures the essence of nature in a manner evocative of both the physical and spiritual realms. Layering translucent forms into a symphony of colors, Pardue calls on the elements of water, precious stones, flora, and lush landscapes to inspire tranquility, transformation, and peace. Painting the heaviest forms of the depths of the earth to the most ethereal components of existence, Pardue’s manifestations are pure energy and consciousness unfolding onto a canvas.

This solo exhibition will be on display through May 10th, 2019.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Meredith Pardue infuses her canvases with a vivid color palette that appeals to both the feminine and masculine aspects of the universe. The serene and calmness of negative space is confronted with the birth of color and form. The bright and bold colors deepen our experience into the feminine sensuality and seductive nature of the floral-like forms.  The darker and more neutral tones hold a sense of sturdiness and density that relate to the essence of masculinity. Manifesting creation through form and color, Pardue transforms negative spaces into matter through bold and rich textures and sensual colors which convey her love of nature, especially the physical beauty of her native Louisiana. Her exploration of earthly and otherworldly terrains leads us to vibrant visions inside an interactive transformation of energy. Pardue goes beyond the world of matter, experimenting with elements and their features intercepting into the spirit of creation itself.

Pardue studied painting at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and subsequently at Parson School of Design where she received her M.F.A. in 2003. Since one of her first exhibitions at the Levee Gallery, Monroe, LA, in 1998, Pardue has had dozens of solo shows in Texas, New York, California, Illinois, and Louisiana, as well as regular inclusion in group exhibitions. Her work has been featured in a variety of art and design publications, including Architectural Digest, Art Ltd., Dwell, Elle Décor, New American Paintings, and Professional Artist. She is represented in the notable collections of BBVA Compass, Exon Mobile, Genstar Capital, J Crew Corporate Headquarters, Marina Bay Sands, The Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Oceania Cruise Lines, Ritz Carlton, Savannah College of Art and Design, State Farm Arena Atlanta Hawks Stadium, and UT Southwestern Medical Center.  Pardue currently lives and works in Austin, TX.
